Curriculum & Daily Schedule

A Day Designed to Ignite Wonder

Our Montessori-inspired curriculum blends structured learning with joyful exploration across six pillars — giving every child ages 1.5–4 the foundation to thrive in Pre-K and beyond.

Six Learning Pillars

Every activity, every moment at SPARK is intentionally designed around six interconnected pillars that develop the whole child — mind, body, and heart.

School Readiness & Literacy

We build the literacy, numeracy, and pre-writing foundations every child needs to walk into Pre-K and kindergarten with confidence.

  • Letter recognition and phonemic awareness
  • Number sense and early math concepts
  • Pre-writing strokes and pencil grip
  • Vocabulary building through read-alouds
  • Following multi-step directions

Creative Arts & Expression

Through art, music, movement, and imaginative play, children discover their unique voice and develop creative thinking that lasts a lifetime.

  • Visual arts: painting, collage, sculpture
  • Music appreciation and rhythm exploration
  • Dramatic play and storytelling
  • Process-focused, open-ended art projects
  • Building confidence through creative risk-taking

Social-Emotional Learning

We nurture confidence, empathy, and friendship — the emotional toolkit that helps children thrive in school and in life.

  • Identifying and naming emotions
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving
  • Building friendships and cooperation
  • Self-regulation and calming strategies
  • Developing a growth mindset

STEAM Discovery

Hands-on STEAM exploration, problem-solving, and wonder-driven activities keep little minds engaged and hungry to learn more.

  • Hands-on science experiments
  • Engineering challenges with blocks and loose parts
  • Coding concepts through play and movement
  • Math through measurement and patterns
  • Technology exploration with age-appropriate tools

Movement & Wellness

Daily movement, yoga, and outdoor play build gross motor skills, body awareness, and healthy habits from the very start.

  • Gross motor development through structured play
  • Yoga and mindfulness for little bodies
  • Outdoor exploration and nature connection
  • Healthy habits: nutrition, hygiene, rest
  • Body awareness and coordination

Nature & Environmental Stewardship

Children learn to observe, appreciate, and care for the natural world through gardening, outdoor science, and eco-awareness activities.

  • Seasonal nature observation journals
  • Classroom garden and composting
  • Outdoor science walks and discovery
  • Caring for classroom plants and animals
  • Introduction to sustainability concepts
